Alumni Updates from 40s, 50s and 70s

Sharon Groninger MacDougall, daughter of George Groninger ’50, wrote to share her father’s obituary. George passes away on February 27, 2021, at the age of 88. George was a Penn State grad and music educator.

Kurt Westby ’75 shared that he’s just retired… for the second time! 

Joyce Markle Blackwelder ’73 shared that her father Jack Markle ’47, passed away on March 4, 2021, in Pensacola, Florida, at the age of 90. You can view Jack’s obituary. Joyce’s sister Jean Markle Frank is also class of ’73 and their sister Jacque is class of ’74. Jack’s ashes were scattered at various locations around Centre County this summer.
